WHAT?
Since July 2023, we have been hosting a roughly monthly left-queer TIN table – regular’s table / meeting, called “TIN-Tresen”. This event has nothing to do with us as a publishing house/collective, so it’s not about books or anything like that (at least it doesn’t have to be ;)). It’s also not moderated by us. There’s no intended hierarchy. We “only” organize the space and welcome everyone who feels addressed by this text.
Our TIN Tresen isn’t a “self-help group,” even though our personal experiences can always come up. But it doesn’t have to be about TIN topics at all. You can simply talk to other TIN people about anything you like. We consider our group political, creating a space to discuss important political or even personal issues (which are, of course, connected).
Besides German, we can also offer English as a conversational language. (This applies only to Katja and Sam for sure. We can’t guarantee that other attendees will speak English. However, we’ve always managed to communicate well in multiple languages.)
The TIN Tresen can be used to network with other people and arrange personal or more private projects/meetings. For us, this “pub setting” is exactly right and what we currently want and can offer.
WHO?
Adults who are transgender, non-binary, and/or intersex are invited. The aim is to connect with people who disagree with the gender identity assigned to them at birth, or who live in some way outside the gender binary. It’s also for people who are beginning to question their assigned gender identity.
The core organizers are currently two Gen X / xennial people (white, one able-bodied and one with a disability), both transgender and big fans of queer TV shows, queer politics, and queer life in general.
WHERE?
We meet in public pubs, alternating between Offenbach and Frankfurt, both centrally located and easily accessible in the respective city centers. Since we usually meet on Saturdays, these places are often a bit noisy. But we do our best to ensure we can still have a conversation, even if it’s not always as a large group.
We chose these venues because we like the semi-private atmosphere and want to keep the space open for everyone to discuss their topics. Also, we’re currently unable to moderate such meetings, which we feel would be necessary in a more private setting. So, basically, we sit in a pub/restaurant with a nice drink and probably something to eat, chatting about whatever’s on our minds and what we find interesting.
We’re always happy to receive suggestions for suitable pubs/venues that aren’t too noisy.
WHEN?
Our next TIN Tresen is on: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Please register by Friday, April 3, if you’d like to attend. Simply send us an email with your first name to tintresen@queer-pack.com. We’ll email you the location a few days before the meeting and are really looking forward to meeting you. Our meetings always take place at 7 pm.
We only publish the date, not the location. We need to be able to plan and reserve a table accordingly. Therefore, please register in advance.
We always publish our next meeting date right here on this website and also on the QueerFfm mailing list: https://lists.riseup.net/www/review/queerffm
We also have a small, private Telegram group where we share meeting dates. We only accept people into this group if they have already visited a TIN counter. If you would like to be included, please speak to us about it personally at the next meeting.
