Open Submission Call

Queer Pack Is Looking for Queer Books

We’re looking for stories across the LGBTQIAP+ spectrum usually not given a platform.

Do you have a tale about an ace guy trying to survive college and the story of how he finds love—whatever shape that love may take? Maybe you have a story about a trans witch off to save her enby queer-platonic partner who’s been kidnapped by a dragon, and she just knows they’ll be talking the dragon’s ear off? Got a story brewing with a poly triad planning the heist of their lives, the one that’s gonna go right this time? Perhaps you have a story of how two trans people met and fell in love and found themselves adopting their first child? A pansexual journalist is covering a story on location and they blow a story wide open, their found family helping at every twist and turn? An aro kickboxer teams up with a genderfluid vigilante to take on crime in the streets?

Hit us with it.

What We Are Looking for in Your Queer Book Submission

Queer stories! One of the main characters must identify as queer. This can mean they are aromantic, asexual, trans, genderqueer, genderfluid, non-binary, intersex, demi, bi, pan, lesbian, gay–if you have queer characters, we want them!

We are looking for previously unpublished queer stories!

This is an open call.

Own voices and sensitivity reading

Considering mainstream exploitation of marginalized identities by writers who do not share the identities of their most marginalized characters, we strive to centre own voice writers. This said, we will never ask someone to out themselves as writing as own voice. Please just know that if we are unsure if the story is written in own voice, this can mean your story may be sent through a sensitivity read. All authors will need to be willing to work with a sensitivity reader if the need arises. You can read more about sensitivity readers here:

If your story is not own voice, please consider using a sensitivity reader before submission (this should be considered as part of submitting a manuscript at the point at which “it is as ready as it can be”). Be aware of the POV you are using.

Submitting your queer book

Send your story as an email attachment in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format to In the body of your email, include your name, story title, word count, a synopsis, and why you think you and your book are a fit for Queer Pack. For more information please read our Submission Guidelines.

We’re looking forward to your submissions!
